Pretende-se, com o presente texto, apresentar a perspectiva das Três Matrizes Jurídicas como uma importante contribuição de Leonel Severo Rocha, autor de grande relevância para a formação do pensamento jurídico brasileiro, sobretudo no âmbito do desenvolvimento da pesquisa e Pós-Graduação em Direito. Trata-se de uma perspectiva crítica sobre as insuficiências da dogmática jurídica, privilegiando uma observação e reflexão complexa do Direito da Sociedade. Para tanto, a reflexão aqui proposta se pauta por uma epistemologia sistêmico-construtivista, que se inscreve na própria perspectiva da Matriz Pragmático Sistêmica, cunhada por Rocha, vista como um espaço privilegiado para pensar o Direito em face dos desafios contemporâneos. Com base em pesquisa bibliográfica, se reconstrói alguns singelos aspectos de grande importância da trajetória desse grande pensador, bem como alguns aspectos de sua construção teórica que interessa-nos acentuar, em especial a configuração representativa do campo jurídico a partir das Três Matrizes do Direito.
